Owl Themed Jewelry Competition
Beaders may enter up to 3 pieces for just one $25 entry fee! Proceeds from “Whooo’ll Bead for Owls?” will benefit the International Owl Center in Houston MN and the Upper Midwest Bead Society.
The International Owl Center will use its money toward its expansion at a new location.
Their expansion plans can be seen at www.internationalowlcenter.org .
Per UMBS President Becky Pancake, UMBS proceeds from the event will fund a special Fall 2020 Workshop Instructor.
Prize Levels: (This is the amount the winning artists will receive.)
Grand Prize- Eurasian Owl $1000
First Place – Great Gray Owl $750
Second Place- Tawny Owl Prize $500
Third Place-Pygmy Owl Prize $250
Entries can be designated for sale - Proceeds will be split 75% artist / 25% ICO
We are also looking for donations of owl themed jewelry that will be sold in the ICO gift shop during the exhibit.
Proceeds will go to ICO.
There are 2 different ways to apply:
Paper Applications for those using snail mail are already available by clicking the link below. Entries are due by May 18, 2020.
Paper applications are to be mailed with a check made out to UMBS for $25 and photos of work to:

On-Line Entries will be accepted April 20-May 18, 2020. The on-line application is not as yet available,
but should be on-line by April 20, 2020. You will still need to mail photos of work with a check to UMBS for $25 to:

If your piece is selected for the show, you will receive notice by email by:
June 29, 2020 US or July 3, 2020 (International)
The juried judging will be done by photo review. Only the entries selected by the jury for the show will need to be shipped to International Owl Center, 126 E. Cedar Street, Houston, MN 55943
and must arrive by July 20th
Juried pieces will be on display at International Owl Center August 1-15, 2020
Return shipping of pieces juried into the show will be paid by the artist.
A return shipping estimate will be included with the Notice of Acceptance.

Although we have made several grant requests, we are still seeking contest sponsors.
