Tambour Bead Embroidery Maple Leaf Pendant or Brooch
Hannah Rosner will teach Tambour Bead Embroidery Maple Leaf Pendant or Brooch
Thursday, 9/21/23 10:30am-4:30pm with lunch break
Cost: $40 ($55 for non-members)
This class was developed for the Upper Midwest Bead Society
An Advanced level Bead and Traditional embroidery project with a little bit of goldwork thrown in for good measure.
Because why not?
Add new elements to your bead embroidery by learning basic tambour embroidery. Then add traditional embroidery and basic gold work techniques. We’ll also add some cup chain and vintage French sequins, just for some extra bling.
Students should be comfortable with basic bead embroidery including backstitch and finishing techniques. We will not be covering these basics in class. Crocheting ability will make this technique much easier for students, but I'll show you a way to get the tambour look even if crocheting isn't your jam.
This is an IN PERSON ONLY class.
Kits are available at: https://www.etsy.com/listing/1514095368/bead-kit-maple-leaf-tambour-embroid
Kit provided is in the same colors as sample. Kit price: $65
This kit includes:

Fall Bead 2022 Retreat Pictures - amazing works!
Fall Bead Retreat September 20-24, 2023
Twice each year we head off for a weekend of beading, fun, beading, shopping, beading, learning a new pattern, good friends, beading, food, beading... I think you get the idea.
We do not plan structured classes, but someone is always willing to teach you just about anything you want to learn. We usually have some vendors so if you forget something, you can buy it from them or borrow it from someone else.
SPRING Retreat is usually in March; to get rid of your cabin fever. FALL Retreat is usually in September; after the kids are off for another school year and just in time to start working on those Christmas projects. We have been doing these bead retreats for 20+ years and have tried several different venues over the years. We've especially enjoyed our experiences at Camp Wapogasset in Wisconsin.
Bring whatever you want to work on along with bedding or a sleeping bag and towels. Everyone is welcome; you do not have to be a UMBS member. However, we do offer a reduced price to our members.
